Be Irish for a Day!
The best way to discover the real Ireland is certainly to meet people in the country. Indeed, even if Dublin's architecture seems to have been preserved from the down-town skyscraper model, it is more and more influenced by this way of life.
During your time in Ireland, you may not have any real opportunity to leave the usual touristic pathways, and face what some call the real Ireland. This trip is a very good occasion to meet Irish traditions, and also a very good opportunity to make international friends, as it is the first trip we organise in the term.
I can say that all the persons I've known in the last two years that went to this day trip came back charmed by it, and thought was really worth doing.
The way it works is simple. Saturday the 29th of September, we will leave Dublin in the morning (10.00am), drive for about one hour, arrive to the farm, have a lunch (but you may as well bring an extra small sandwich). We'll do loads of different traditional irish things, get a snack (scone that we are going to cook) and then come back in the evening (at around 7.30pm) - which may be continued by a few pintes! ;-)
